London Launches Weekend Hopper: Unlimited Bus and Tram Travel for Just £1.75 on Weekends
During the summer of 2026, both London residents and visitors can enjoy a more affordable way to travel thanks to the newly introduced Weekend Hopper scheme by Transport for London (TfL) and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. The initiative allows passengers to enjoy unlimited bus and tram travel throughout the day on weekends for the price of a single bus fare, encouraging greater use of public transport while making it easier to explore everything London has to offer.
What is Weekend Hopper?
Weekend Hopper is a new travel promotion available on weekends from 25 July to 31 August 2026. During this period, passengers only need to pay £1.75—the cost of a standard single bus fare—to enjoy unlimited travel on London’s buses and trams for the entire day.
The scheme is an extension of London’s existing Hopper Fare policy. Previously, passengers could make unlimited transfers between buses and trams within one hour of tapping in for their first journey. Under the new Weekend Hopper initiative, that unlimited travel period has been extended from one hour to the entire day on weekends, offering far greater flexibility and value for money.
